Nature Republic Provence Highlighter and Finish Pact (REVIEW)

Hey guys!

Today I'm going to be talking about the Nature Republic Provence Highlighter and Finish Pact.
This was recommended to me in a store in Singapore called E-Beauty, which is a really cute little store and it has a lot of great makeup for really good prices.

The sales girls in E-Beauty are always really attentive and are actually quite good at figuring out what makeup will suit you.

When she recommended this to me I was a little hesitant, because I'd never heard of it, and highlighters are either a hit or miss for me because some of them are too light whilst others have too much shimmer.

But when I swatched it, it was so beautiful. It wasn't too shimmery but it is quite light, so I would recommend to not use a ton of it, or else you'll look quite shiny.

She offered to contour a bit of my face with it so that I could see how it'd look once it was on the face. I really fell in love with it.

This took one swipe. Look how beautifully pigmented it is.

Since this highlighter is quite pigmented and intense, I would say not to use too much and to be careful where you put it. I normally use this on my brow bone and very subtly on my cheekbones. I really would strongly enforce the fact that using this on your nose will make your nose look slightly white and off-colour with the rest of your face.

But overall, I really do love this product and I use it almost daily.

Anyway, that's all for now!

Thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoyed it!

Biotique Spot Correcting Anti-Acne Cream (REVIEW)

Hey guys!

Today I'm going to be talking about the Biotique Spot Correcting Anti-Acne Cream. Now, as a teenage girl, I was immediately drawn to this because anything with "anti-acne" on it is a godsend.

I was really excited to try this.

Ugh.

It didn't work. I've been using it for almost two months and I see no improvements. See, when I have a pimple, sometimes when it goes away it leaves a little dark spot. I was hoping that this would "correct" the spot, but it didn't work.

Another bad thing, IT BURNS.

I'm not exaggerating, it literally feels like fire. It is the most uncomfortable feeling.
When I first put it on, I had to wipe it off because it was hurting so bad.

I don't really understand if the burning is a part of the correcting process? All I know is that it didn't work for me. I find the e.l.f zit eraser does a better job at dark spots and pimples than this fire cream.

Overall, I was really not happy with this product. I wish I could get my money back, because it really didn't help at all, it just exposed me to the feeling of what burning on my face could feel like.

If this does work for you, please remember that this is just my opinion, and maybe it works with your skintype.

Anyway, that's all for now!

I'll hopefully be doing the e.l.f review sometime early next week!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!

e.l.f haul!

Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't been on for a long time! I've been so busy with school, it's crazy.

Okay so yesterday I received my things from E.L.F! I'm so excited to try them out, I wanted to do a blog post about them but I haven't been able to review them yet.

I love getting new things because there's a feeling that can't be described.

I have a slight problem with online shopping.

Anyway, I'll see you guys on Friday when I upload the review! I'll try to keep it short, but I bought a lot of stuff!

The Body Shop All In One BB Cream (REVIEW)

Hey guys!

I'm sick at home today, so I thought I'd post a little review.

I'm going to be talking about The Body Shop BB Cream. Now, I hadn't heard about this very much online. But when I went shopping in Singapore with my friend Naintara and Anandini, I stumbled across this BB cream.

It's surprisingly good. But it's not cheap at all. Oh my god, it's so pricey for a simple BB Cream. I think in Singapore it sold for around thirty dollars.

Now when I first squeezed it out, I was terrified. It comes out white and liquidy. I was thinking "What the hell is this?"

But once you rub it in, it matches your skin perfectly. I mean, at first it does come out a lot darker than your skin, but within 30 or so seconds it matches your skintone PERFECTLY.

However, it does not have full coverage, since it is a BB cream, so I really only wear it when my skin isn't going through a catastrophic breakout.

I'm kind of upset because I bought it when I was a little bit tanner, so it is a little dark for me, but I'll hopefully get to wear it soon because I really do like it.

I did use the Shade 3, but right now, I'm probably the shade 2.

This is how it comes out at first, a white cream paste.

Slowly blending it out. It blends very nicely too.

It does look quite dark here, but wait...

It perfectly blends into my skintone!
Overall, this is a very good product, it claims that it's a color adapting BB cream, and that's truth in advertising. However, I would NOT pay over 30 bucks for this product.

Although, I did use it for 3 months and I still have more than half the tube left. It literally just never ends.

So, yes I did really like this product but the price just really bothers me.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it!

Bye!

Nyx Photogenic Primer (REVIEW)

Hey guys!

I'm sorry it's taken be so long to post, but I've been busy with school and I don't want to bombard you all!

Okay so today I will be talking about the Nyx Photogenic Primer.

It says that it will make light reflect off your skin, fills in your pores, smooths lines/creases and helps mattify makeup.

There's a reason why I don't have a photo of it.

I threw it out.

I like the shape of the bottle, I like primers that are smooth and don't clump and ball up on the face. I put it on, and it does the job I must admit.

I used it for three of four days, before I realized my face was breaking out HORRIBLY. I mean, BAD. Maybe it's just that my skin is sensitive to the chemicals in the primer, but this made my skin break out like crazy.

I remember justifying it in my head, saying that it was just my girl hormones raging over and over, but I stopped using it for a week and my breakouts cleared up.

I threw it out after that, because I was so upset. It DID the job. But it left my skin clogged and more oily than usual.

I do not have my own photo of it, because I threw it out so quickly.

I personally find that the MakeUp Forever primers are much better. So I would suggest that you buy those instead. NYX might be cheaper than the MUF primers, but you are paying for quality.

Overall, I liked the finished, because it did was it was supposed to, but it left my skin irritated and I had a horrible breakout.

Anyway, that's all for now!

I hope that you guys liked it and enjoyed reading it!

Thanks and GOOOODBYE :)

Maybelline Pure Eraser Mineral Foundation (REVIEW)

Hey guys!

Today I'm going to be talking about the Maybelline Pure Erased Mineral Foundation.

Now, I was intrigued by this because it was a sponge-roll applicator. But I was also hesitant to use it. I tried it on my hand and I didn't like how the sponge applied.

It took me a whole TWO MONTHS to even use this foundation.

I liked it, but I would never use it again.

First of all, it doesn't even feel like foundation, it doesn't really cover anything. It's not really buildable either.

If I do try to put more on, it ends up looking cakey and muddy. I don't really believe the "Pure Eraser" part because it doesn't erase anything. It literally just looks like a layer of coloured liquid on the face.

Twisting it to come out is a pure pain in the ass. If you twist it a bit, nothing comes out, but if you twist more than three or four times, a crap ton comes out.

It's also such a weird shade, the color range is pretty small, it's not really focusing on different skin types. It seems more suited for the Caucasian shade, where as I have olive skin with a yellow undertone.

It looks pretty, and there's actually NOT a lot of product in this.  There's only 20ml.

Another down-side, it gets dirty so easily and personally I hate using dirty sponges on my face.

This is FOUR strokes of the foundation.

If you do blend this foundation, it looks like NOTHING. It's such a bad product, and it was a waste of money because Maybelline products are not that cheap. There are better foundations in the drug-stores for cheaper prices. I will not be repurchasing this.

It might look very good on you though, but this is my personal opinion and experience with this product.

Anyway, that's all for now!

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it!

Bye!

MAC Eyeshadow- Goldbit Lustre (REVIEW)

Hey guys!

Today I'm going to be talking about the MAC Eyeshadow in the shade Goldbit Lustre. I recently re-discovered this when my friend Sadie was trying to do my makeup and she pulled this out of my makeup collection.

I was pleasantly surprised at this product, because I'm not a MASSIVE fan of MAC products. I feel like they're a little hyped up. However, I have had pretty good experiences with eyeshadows from MAC.

When I swatched this, I was actually really in love with the color. It's this really pretty champagne-gold color. It does say that it's it has gold tones in it, which I do agree with, however it has more of a champagne colour in it.

It's not super pigmented, so you can't wear this on it's own, but blended in with a nice coppery-brown or a slightly darker tone. But when the look is completed, it looks very pretty.

I like how the MAC eyeshadow capsules are really small,
yet they have a ton of product in it.

It's such a pretty colour.

However,  it's a little bit sheer.
It does lack a little bit of staying power, so wear an eyeshadow primer underneath. I normally like to use this to highlight my brow bone and the inner corners of my eye.

A primer that I always go back to is the Urban Decay Primer Potion.

Anyway, that's all for now!

Hope you liked this and enjoyed reading it!

Bye!

Maybelline Color Sensational (REVIEW)

Hey guys!

Okay, so I'm going to be talking about the Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks. Well two of them in particular.

I heard a lot of great things about these on the internet, especially on YouTube. So I went out and bought me two shades. Hooked on Pink and Red Revival. I really love pink-red tones because they go the best with my skin tone.

I was super excited to try them.

When I first swatched them at the store, they weren't extremely pigmented, but they weren't anything to laugh at. Their color range is pretty decent in my opinion.

When I put Hooked on Pink on, I liked it. It was a nice rich color and it complimented my skin tone.

However, it has absolute crap staying power. Within an hour or so, the lipstick would be gone. It also made my lips feel quite dry which I HATE. It seemed quite sticky and balmy too.

I refused to admit to myself that I didn't like them, so I tried Red Revival on.

Now, this shade wasn't as nice as I thought it was going to be. It definitely seemed a lot more cherry red when I swatched it, but when I put it on my lips, it had a white-ish undertone. But that didn't bother me as much.

Although it was the SAME problem. I got dry lips, absolute crap staying power, smears like crazy,  color payoff really isn't as great as one would think and it wasn't value for money.

Yes, they're dirty because I buried them at the bottom of my makeup collection.
To be honest, the packaging isn't that impressive either.

The two colours: Red Revival and Hooked on Pink.

Standard looking lipsticks. Not super impressive.

Top Colour: Hooked on Pink.
Bottom Colour: Red Revival.

Overall, I would never re-purchase these. I probably will never need to anyway. They're not really worth the money. You can definitely find better lipsticks for a cheaper price. I wouldn't recommend you buying it, but that's just my opinion. Maybe it'll work on you, but it doesn't work on me.

Anyway,

That's all for now!

Thanks for reading and I hope you liked it!

Bye!

MAC Studio Finish Concealer (REVIEW)

Hey guys!

Bam! Another post!

So I'm going to be talking about the MAC Studio Finish Concealer.

I recently just re-discovered this whilst cleaning out my makeup collection. I was quite curious because I felt it and it seemed quite velvety and BARELY any of it was used.

I'm so glad I found it.

I fell in love with it.

Like every other teenage girl, I do get breakouts. However, mine are quite minor, I think the worst breakout I've experienced was two or three small pimples at once. It was a tragedy.

I use it after I put on foundation, I blend it over the pimple, but I try not to stretch the pimple, so I just end up dabbing it on. It does not HIDE the pimple, because there is no way to hide a bump coming out of your face. However it hides the redness, so less attention is drawn to the pimple.

Once applied correctly, you can barely tell that there's a spot on your face.

It's magical.

This packaging also makes the concealer quite easy to carry around.
Let's not forget that there is a TON of product in that tiny little capsule.

The shade I use is NW30.
Just a quick note:
If you do have oily skin like myself, you HAVE to use a setting powder over this. I would suggest the Maybelline Dream Matte powder, because it keeps the concealer in place for a few extra hours.

Overall, I'm in love with this product and I do recommend it to everybody ESPECIALLY teenage girls going through hormonal changes.

That's all for now!

Thanks for reading and I hope you liked this post!

Bye!

Hourglass Cosmetics- BALLET (Review)

Hey guys!

Weeeee another post.

Okay here we go. I don't really hear much about Hourglass Cosmetics on the internet. If I Google them, of course it'll pop up, but I never hear any beauty guru's talk about them. Especially on YouTube.

I was strolling through a drugstore, and I saw this color. It's called Ballet. It's the most beautiful, rich and pigmented mix of fuchsia and pink.

Oh god it's so beautiful. It's pigmented and long-lasting, definitely worth buying.

This is the lipgloss/lipstick in the tube. It's so pretty isn't it?

It's so pigmented!
However, it's not extremely moisturizing. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't leave your lips dry, but I personally like to have my lips soft and extremely hydrated, so if you're like me, wear a balm before putting this on.

The colour payoff is absolutely spectacular.

What the makeup looks like on me.
Okay well that's all for now!

Thanks for reading this post and I hope you liked it!

I'll see you soon!

- Kara (:

UDDATE: I wore this for the night out, and it stayed on the entire time. I drank a lot (water and coke in case you were wondering, I'm still underage) and it didn't smear, it didn't come off on the glass, and I didn't have to re-apply it! Definite winner!

Maybelline Eyestudio - Diamond Glow Copper Brown (REVIEW)

Hey guys!

So, I was given the Maybelline Eyestudio- Diamond Glow in the shades Copper Brown.

Now I must admit that I was quite hesitant, because I wasn't sure about the pigment and to be honest, they looked quite standard. It didn't look like they'd be that good. However;

I. Love. This. Palette.

It's not EXTREMELY pigmented, but it's quite noticeable when used. The colours are absolutely beautiful.

I have brown eyes. They're the shade of brown that's quite milky and you can see the iris. This palette makes brown eyes look STUNNING. The copper color (the third  color) highlights the brown and makes it pop. It's beautiful. It makes brown eyes look quite chocolate-y (no that's not a word) and quite molten.

I can't even explain how much I love this palette.

Yes it's quite dirty, because I've used the crap out of it.
Don't judge me.

That copper shade is absolutely beautiful. It has the biggest dip in it, because I can't get enough of it.

                                                            Here are a few swatches.

AGGGH I love this eyeshadow so much.

Anyway, that's all for now.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it!

Introduction

Hey Guys, nice to meet you!
Just a little bit about me.
Hello there everyone,

My name is Kara. I'm a teenage girl from New Zealand and Singapore. I've grown up pretty much everywhere. From Singapore to Hong Kong to Australia to England and then back to Singapore and now INDIA! India is absolutely crazy. It's so much fun though, especially since I go to the American School in New Delhi. Although makeup here is quite expensive, which is a downside for a fellow makeup lover like me.

I've been interested in makeup since I was a little girl. I think the first makeup product I ever was given was a lip gloss. Hardcore right? But it slowly built to the point where I buy new makeup almost every week (sorry Mum and Dad). I'm an avid lover of punk rock music. The first CD I ever bought was Avril Lavigne "Let Go."

I then grew to have a fascination with Blink-182. Which opened up a door of amazing things. Motionless in White, Evanescence, BMTH, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Pierce the Veil, SWS, Of Mice and Men have all earned a permanent place in my life.

So basically I'm a makeup-hippie-punk-rock-loving kinda girl.

In a nutshell.
